Мыслилась как объективная структура, выражающая лишь самоё себя. Борьба между приверженцами абсолютной и программной музыки ("брамсианцами" и "вагнерианцами") обострилась в 1854 г. после публикации книги австрийского музыкального критика Эдуарда Ханслика (Hanslick Eduard, 1825-1904) "О музыкально-прекрасном" ("Vom Musikalisch-Schönen"). 4 Brahms Johannes
Брамс Иоганесс (1833-1897), композитор, пианист, дирижёр. Последний в истории композитор, состоявший на придворной службе. В своём творчестве развил классические традиции венского симфонизма, которые обогатил новым романтическим содержанием. Новатор в области разнообразия музыкальных форм и драматургии, одинаково уверенно чувствовал себя как в сфере интеллектуальной так и развлекательной музыки. По масштабу творческой личности Брамса часто сравнивают с двумя другими "великими Б" немецкой музыки – И.С. Бахом и Бетховеном. Первый музыкальный опыт приобрёл, делая аранжировки цыганских и венгерских мелодий, воплотившиеся в "Цыганских песнях" и "Венгерских танцах". С 1868 г. жил в Вене, возглавлял Общество друзей музыки, именно в это время создаёт самые известные свои произведения "Немецкий реквием", 4 симфонии, "4 строгих напева", "Одиночество в поле" ▲ "Ziegeunerlieder", "Ungarische Tänze", "Ein Deutsches Requiem", "Vier ernste Gesänge", "Feldeinsamkeit". fромантизм, идейно-эстетическое и художественное направление в литературе, музыке, изобразительном искусстве на рубеже XVIII-XIX вв. Отразило глубокое разочарование художников политическими результатами Великой французской революции. Противопоставление мира прекрасных, недостижимых идеалов и пронизанной духом мещанства и филистерства повседневности породило в творчестве романтиков драматическую конфликтность, мотивы одиночества, идеализацию далёкого прошлого, народного быта, природы. Романтизм в Германии отличает мистический характер, немецких романтиков привлекает, прежде всего, необычное, сверхъестественное. Они ищут вдохновения в отмеченном печатью таинственности средневековом искусстве. В литературе этой эпохи (1798-1830) любимыми формами стали книги сказок (братья Гримм), народные песни (Арним, Брентано), а также романы (Тик, Новалис, Вакенродер, Айхендорф). Кроме того, в это время активно переводятся зарубежные авторы и, прежде всего, средневековая поэзия. Литературные кружки этого направления возникли в Мюнхене, Хайдельберге, Берлине и Дрездене. Литературный романтизм повлёк за собой развитие других гуманитарных областей – языкознания, литературоведения (Гриммы и Шлегели), юриспруденции (Савиньи), философии (Фихте). Романтизм в музыке сложился под воздействием раннего немецкого литературно-философского романтизма. Затем развивался в тесной связи с различными течениями в литературе, живописи, был неразрывно связан с лирической поэзией, определявшей расцвет вокальной лирики. Представлен сторонниками Ваймарской и Ляйпцигской школ. Основными жанрами творчества немецких художников-романтиков были портрет, пейзаж (К.Д.Фридрих), аллегорические композиции (Рунге). Назарейцы стремились возродить традиции немецкой и итальянской живописи XV в. со свойственными ей религиозными идеями.
